This Costa Mesa homeowner didn't just want a pool — they wanted a backyard that actually gets used every single day. A space for swimming laps, relaxing in the spa after a long day, entertaining friends on the weekend, and sitting out in the morning sun without leaving home. That vision drove every decision in this project from day one.

The pool itself is a large, clean geometric design — the kind of modern pool that photographs beautifully but is built equally for how it feels to use. The in-water sun shelf with lounge chairs is one of the most popular features we install, and for good reason: it creates a shallow, shaded zone at the edge of the pool where you can cool off without fully swimming — perfect for Orange County's all-day sunshine.

The attached spa sits elevated at the pool's edge with a spillover waterfall feature — functionally separate but visually connected, framed in the same mosaic tile detail that lines the pool. The combination of pool and spa in a single unified design is something we've refined across dozens of projects, and this Costa Mesa build is one of the cleanest examples of it.
