It All Started with a Pool.
This project didn't begin as a whole home renovation — it began with a pool. The homeowners had a compact backyard in Newport Beach and a clear vision: they wanted a pool, and they wanted it to fit their space perfectly without compromising the yard they already loved.
What looks modest in photos is anything but. Every inch of this pool was custom engineered to maximize the available footprint — the shape, the depth profile, the coping, the water line tile — all designed specifically for this backyard and no other. Nothing off the shelf. Nothing templated. Completely built from scratch around what the space allowed.
The Engineering Challenge
There was no room in the yard for the pool equipment — none. Rather than compromise the outdoor space with an exposed equipment pad, we engineered a hidden underground bunker beneath the backyard to house all the pumps, filters, heaters, and automation systems. The entire mechanical system is completely concealed below grade, accessible through a flush-set hatch. The yard looks exactly as clean as the homeowners envisioned — with no visible equipment anywhere.

Midway through the pool build, the homeowners had seen enough. The precision of the work, the communication, the way every challenge was handled — they decided they wanted RIA Group to remodel the rest of their home too. What started as a pool project expanded into a complete whole home renovation: kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, interior finishes, hardscaping, and room additions throughout.
The entire project — from first shovel to final walkthrough — took one full year. Not because of delays or problems, but because of the sheer volume of custom work involved. Every single element of this project was built to a specification that didn't exist until we created it.
